What's New
2/17/09 If you are looking on this page that means you haven't given up hope that I'll return with classes
again. This one is definitely in the running. Absolutely gorgeous when you see it up close and so interwoven
it took some real thinking to figure this one out. Who knows, maybe it will turn into a class. But now, what to
call it....
4/26/09 Mary Ellen and I saw this in a shop here in Boerne and it looked easy to
copy. Mary Ellen completed two so I tried one myself and found I love the look but
dislike making the bracelet. If it's not fast and fun, I don't like to make 'em. I think this
will be my one and only caterpillar. And I know just who to gift it to!
6/8/09 This is the pearl version (like the green one below) of what's now named the Woven Crystal
Cuff. I made only one row because it didn't go as fast with the round pearls. But boy is it elegant!!!!
6/8/09 This is a double of the Woven Crystal Cuff. These really are beautiful
and can be made as a single (like below) or up to as many rows as you like. My
sister loved how it looked and just ordered one in clear crystal and silver.
6/10/09 Another bracelet I had seen on my adventures with Mary Ellen. I had
hopes of making it a class but there were too many problems in finding materials
and crafting this one that I've given up on the idea completely. This is now a one
of a kind and will probably be given away so I'm not reminded of the headache I
got while making it!
6/11/09 This is a double Woven Crystal Cuff made with semiprecious goldstone. This one is mine, all
mine!
6/15/09 This is the double Woven Crystal Cuff I made for my sister (her request). It's
just way to blingy (is that a word) to photograph. Too much sparkle if you ask me,
but she loves it!
6/16/09 Here's the last sample of the Woven Crystal Cuff . This one is done with Czech glass and
although it's nice, it just doesn't have the pop the pearls, semiprecious, and crystals do. It's just more of
a "pocketbook friendly" option.
6/18/09 This is a great way to use up the leftovers from the Woven Crystal Cuff. It's very dainty and
looks much prettier in person...like Victorian Lace. I'm keeping this one for myself. Boy I'm having fun
playing with beads again!
7/3/09 I decided to play around with different beads and colors for the upcoming Victorian Lace
class. Here are two variations.
7/12/09 I saw this in Oklahoma while I shopped the bead stores. I had seen this design years
ago and never took the time to make any up. I wanted nice semiprecious stones but they were
quite pricey up there so I just made them up with some Czech glass. Wish I'd done this sooner,
this would be a great easy class to teach Right Angle Weave.
7/13/09 This is my new favorite bracelet. It's not crochet, it's simply lots of repetitive Right
Angle Weave with an embellished top. It's very slow going but I think I will make up another
one. I love how it rolls on and the weight is perfect for a bangle (I made it up with metal
beads instead of glass). I will probably try another one in silver if I can muster up the
patience!
7/14/09 I tried a silver one only because I had a gazillion silver plated round beads in my
stash. I made this one thinner and didn't have to embellish the top because it squared off
when rolled. I just love this new design but I wish it didn't take so long to make!
7/23/09 Saw this on a website and figured I'd give it a try. I think I would have liked the
whole experience more if I hadn't worked with Wildfire...it broke on my twice. From now
on I'll stick with my faithful old Fireline!
7/31/09 Had to make the bangle with smaller beads because the first was too heavy and
left an imprint on my arm. Now I'm thinking the skinny one would make a phenomenal
chain for a necklace. One more project!
8/2/09 Time to pack up the beads and get ready for school to start. Just had to end it with
some BLING! Thanks so much Susan for introducing me to this variation. These are
absolutely stunning. Not sure if I can wear so much sparkle but I will definitely try.
10/25/09 I haven't had to make a baby
bracelet in a good long while. My
youngest cousin and his wife just had
their first baby so I figured I'd make one
up to celebrate the occasion. I forgot how
precious these are until I finished it.
Congratulations Russell and Courtnie!
